Transition Year Programme
The Transition Year is a one-year programme, which comes immediately after completion of the Junior Certificate. At least one group of students is selected for the Transition Year programme (depending on student interest and school resources). Students apply to participate in this course and are selected based on record of attendance and behaviour and also suitability to the course.
The aims of the programme are: -
The Transition Year Programme consists of a set of core subjects:Religious Studies
In addition, a range of subjects and activities are offered on a year-by-year basis, following consultations between TY co-ordinators, Management, Staff and students.

Drama
Music
Dance
Health Education
Social Studies
Drugs Awareness
Personal Development
Public Speaking
A fee is required to help run this programme.
Transition Year Students put on a drama each year , usually a play on the Leaving Certificate English syllabus. In 2006 they mounted a very well received version "A Wake in the West" by Micheal Joes Ginnelly.
